RYA Advanced Powerboat

Overview

The RYA Advanced Powerboat course is ideal for those working in the Yachting industry and required to operate Ribs and Tenders during hours of darkness

The RYA Advanced Powerboat Course is intended for those who want to progress from RYA Power Boat Level 2 and have Certification to operate during the hours of darkness.

It includes navigation at planing speed, weather and other aspects of skippering powerboats on more challenging passages in coastal waters. Anybody undertaking this course must have the practical skills of the Intermediate course and knowledge of navigation to at least the standard of the Coastal Skipper/RYA Yachtmaster Shorebased course

The RYA Advanced Powerboat Course is a 2 day course including 1 evening session on day one to complete some night pilotage and passage planning

Satisfactory completion of the RYA Advanced Powerboat course leads to the issue of the RYA Advanced Power Boat Certification. For those wishing to take their RYA Advanced Power Boat Certificate of Competence Exam after the course, please contact us to arrange this. Pre-Requisites

Power Boat Level 2 experience

Theory Level to Yachtmaster Offshore

Itinerary

This is a two day course run from 0900 hrs to 2200 hrs on day one [to include a night navigation exercise] and 0900 hrs to 1700 hrs on day two

Additional information

The weather in Mallorca is generally ideal for boating, but please remember to bring sun cream and hats etc.

Also at certain times of the year, it can be quite cold on the water so you may need additional clothing.

Life jackets are provided for use during the course.

Please do not forget refreshments and fluids.
